The Perfect Derma Peel at Medical Skin Therapeutics
The Perfect Derma Peel is formulated with a carefully selected blend of acids and antioxidants, with the addition of a gentle numbing agent to relieve discomfort. It works by dissolving and peeling away the top layer of facial skin to reveal the fresh, clear skin underneath.
This peel is the only medical-grade chemical peel formula that contains the naturally occurring antioxidant glutathione, an anti-inflammatory agent with powerful anti-aging properties. The unique ingredients and balanced formula ensures minimal irritation and downtime, and makes it a great choice for clients of all skin types and color.

Who Is the Ideal Candidate for Perfect Derma Peel?
The Perfect Derma Peel is a versatile peel that’s appropriate for men and women of all ages and all skin tones. Good candidates are people who want to:
- Achieve general skin rejuvenation
- Brighten a dull complexion
- Tone or tighten aging skin
- Reduce melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation
- Reverse sun damage
- Reduce pore size
- Heal acne lesions and prevent future breakouts
- Fade minor acne scars
As with all chemical peels, pregnant and nursing women should avoid this treatment. Those with sensitive skin, severe outbreaks, open sores or active skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema and psoriasis should never undergo chemical peels. Patients who have taken Accutane in the past 12 months should also avoid this treatment.
What to Expect From the Procedure
Once you are seated in our comfortable treatment room, one of our certified practitioners will apply the Perfect Derma Peel solution to your face and neck. This process usually takes about 15 minutes. You will notice a strong chemical smell and a slight itchiness upon application – this discomfort will fade within 30–60 seconds as the numbing agent takes effect.
Once the application is complete, you’re free to go about your day. You will be instructed to leave the peel solution on your face for 6 additional hours. At the end of this period, you may wash the solution off – or, for a deeper peel and a more dramatic end result, you can leave the solution on overnight and wash it off during your morning cleanse.
After the peel is applied, your skin will typically appear dark red and sunburnt, but you should not feel any discomfort. It is important to avoid sun exposure at this point, as your skin will be very vulnerable to damage.
At-home aftercare
Included in your treatment is a home care kit containing the Perfect Derma Moisturizer (1% hydrocortisone) and a package of Post-Peel Towelettes, which are soaked with a calming, hydrating solution.
On the first day following treatment, use the Post-Peel Towelettes as needed to reduce skin tightness, redness and itching. Gently press one onto the treatment area and allow the formula to soak into your skin.
On the second day, use a towelette at the end of your morning cleanse, and let the solution rest on your skin for 30 minutes before applying makeup or sunscreen. Apply one final towelette at the end of your evening cleanse and let the solution rest on your skin overnight.
Peeling will begin on the third day following treatment, and will continue for 3–4 days. Apply the Perfect Derma Moisturizer as needed during this time to manage peeling and ease skin tightness. Avoid picking at the shedding dead skin as this can lead to injury and infection.
Avoid sun exposure before and during the peeling process. If you do spend time outdoors, wear sunscreen with SPF 30 and reapply as needed every 2 hours. At the 10-day mark, you may resume use of your usual skin care products.
Results
Immediately following treatment, you’ll start to notice improvements in your skin’s tone and tightness, in addition to a clearer, brighter complexion. Your skin will begin peeling 3 days after treatment, and will stop peeling by day 6 or 7. At this point, you will see decreased acne density, as well as reduced visibility of signs of aging, sun damage and acne scarring.
To have your skin looking its absolute best, we recommend a series of 2–4 treatments, each spaced four weeks apart; thereafter, a touch-up appointment once every 3–6 months will help you maintain your results.

Although it’s most commonly applied to the face, this peel can also be used on the neck, chest and hands. The application process and final results will vary depending on the treatment area.

The Perfect Derma Peel can effectively reduce the appearance of mild textural acne scars in addition to the surface skin discoloration that accompanies them.
